Crusoe's Project Jade Data Center Campus Gets Approval in Cheyenne, Wyoming

Wyoming has greenlit another major data center development. Last week, Laramie County’s Board of Commissioners approved the site plans for Crusoe’s Project Jade data center campus and Tallgrass’ adjacent BFC Power/Cheyenne Power Hub energy generation project. The two projects were reviewed together as a single, co-located development, a 5 building data center campus designed to be supported by a dedicated on-site power plant.

Tallgrass: BFC Power and Cheyenne Power Hub (power generation)
Tallgrass’ project is a dedicated power plant approved next to the data center development. It is designed to supply large-scale, on-site power for hyperscale loads.
Key project parameters:
- Planned generation capacity: 2.7 GW
- Site area: 659 acres
- Configuration: two natural gas power plants (plus supporting infrastructure)
- Location: Switchgrass Industrial Park

Bottom line
Crusoe is already developing two large AI data center campuses in Texas, including Stargate Abilene (with Oracle and OpenAI) and Project Goodnight (end tenant not yet disclosed). Project Jade adds a new, separate campus in Wyoming with 1.8 GW of planned data center capacity, making it one of Crusoe’s largest announced developments to date. There is also a notable design linkage between Crusoe’s Wyoming and Texas work. The Wyoming filings show a 5 building layout of ~805,300 sqft per building, which is quite similar to the newer “rectangular” building footprint Crusoe is using at the Goodnight campus.
