Satellite imagery from October 11, 2025 confirms site clearing activity underway at Power Blocks A and B of Project Matador, which began during the fourth week of September. These two blocks will host six (6) 6-on-1 combined-cycle generator configurations using Siemens Energy SGT-800 turbines, representing the first phase of the development. At full operation, this phase is expected to provide approximately 2.25 - 2.5 GW of nameplate capacity, almost a quarter of the project’s planned 11,000 MW total.
