IEP Hummingbird Energy is advancing plans for a 944MW behind-the-meter natural gas power plant, integrated with a 1,400-acre hyperscale data center campus in Greene County, Pennsylvania. Essential Utilities has committed $26 million to the project, partnering with International Electric Power III (IEP) as an investor. The campus will be powered by natural gas combined cycle turbines, supported by a battery energy storage system and grid backup connection. Operations are scheduled to begin in Q1 2029.
