SB Energy is developing the PORTS-Pike Technology Campus under a 20-year lease to OpenAI, with NVIDIA as the exclusive AI compute infrastructure provider. NVIDIA will initially support 4.25 GW of IT capacity with an option to take an additional 3.75 GW, while the full campus could scale to 10 GW. NVIDIA will invest $1.5B in SB Energy, down from a previously reported $3B, and is reportedly considering a $120B financial backstop to help lower project debt costs, after initially considering up to $250B before investor pushback. The guarantee would become effective in phases as data centers enter service between 2028 and 2030, with the six-year campus buildout continuing through 2032.
