Diode Ventures plans 620-acre data center in Kuna, Idaho, with significant community investments

- Diode Ventures has proposed the development of a data center named Gemstone Technology Park on 620 acres near Locust Grove Rd. and Barker Rd. in Kuna, Idaho. The project requires rezoning the area from agricultural to light industrial use. As part of community impact mitigation, Diode has committed to contributing $500,000 to the Kuna School District for athletics and technology programs, $10 million over 20 years to the Kuna Police Department to fund a sergeant position, and is negotiating approximately $30 million to support the Kuna Rural Fire District. The data center plans to operate independently of the city's water and wastewater systems by utilizing its own wastewater treatment system and a well for water supply. The facility is expected to create around 100 permanent jobs and between 800 to 1,200 construction jobs, with a phased build-out over 10 years.
